Reignmen's Jason "Ste'lar's" produces the two man's crew's
tracks himself. Impressive, right? Not really, lotsa crews produce
their own stuff these days.
But not many of 'em limit production costs to a $350 dollar keyboard.
But Stelar and Reign Men partner Brandon "Illicit" Jones
say they're pursuing a calling way higher than the cheddar. Says
Ste'lar of their style, "(it) blends an eloquent display of
metaphorical virtuosity, imagery induced by wordly struggle, and
wit with a profound reverence for God and a divine confidence inherent
in carrying out His will.
The duo met through performing and working closely with Hip Hop
Nation, a UNC organization aimed
at the promotion of hip hop culture at the school and the surrounding
community.
Look for Reign Men's new CD, "GAMETIME: The Struggle",
to be released on the band's own label (Chozen)
in January.
