I'm reading GAME BYTES since issue #1 (yes, that's ONE !) and if there's something that is definitely true, then this:
Wow. I'm blushing! No wait! That's a rash...
BUT ! I think you made a big mistake by publishing Merit Software's absolutely scandalous and disgusting screenshot to HARVESTER... You know, the guy with the cut throat.
Oh boy....
Please understand, I'm definitely not the guy who watches his daily
dosis of THE COSBY SHOW, COLLEGE FEVER and all that schmuck. I definitely
prefer hardcore brutal blood action splatters and DOOM add-ons HARVESTER has so many other gruesome pictures (like the terrific spine on
the bed!) -- so why all this brutality for an ad ?
Hmmm, perhaps to .... GET YOUR ATTENTION?? This game is probably going to hit my CD drive as soon as it's out.
Finally somebody's taking care of the dark sides of an adult gamer Well, I have to take exception to your point on this one. Game Bytes
quality indicates our willingness to go out there on the edge. Harvester
is certainly a title that will engender a LOT of opinion. SHOULD it have
been written? Is it over 'the line'? Is Game Bytes encouraging mayhem and
carnage in our society by publishing such a shot? I can only offer my
opinion on this matter, not fact. I think the shot you refer to can be
used to defend both 'sides' of this issue - The anti-violence side will
throw this picture up as a defense of their position of outrageousness,
while the 'Show Anything' crowd will cheer it on - "It's just pixels!" I
stand firmly ensconced in the "You be the judge" camp.
Ok, that should be enough of yelling now... Bye, Gaetano Calia Moderator of the CH-GAMES Conference, SWISSLink
