Greetings Ross,
Your Game Bytes magazine is very, very good! No! Make that excellent!! Is there a better word than excellent? If not, let's invent one. Not yet perfect, but still excellent.
Well, that's better than a kick in the head with a frozen boot, I guess... <G> Thanks!
I've just started reading your mag last month. It's better than other magazines out there. Ever since our local magazine dealer stopped selling CGW, I had very few choices in magazines for PC games. Even if there is CGW, you'd be right beside them in rank to me. What I like about this magazine is that the reviewers are real game players, unlike people who get paid to play games (I really would like to be one of them, though :-)) These people play games because they really want to play it. And they don't really have to send a review on a set date. They just have to be first.
I think we've got to make some major changes with regards to the type, timeliness, and delivery of this information. The sheer quantity of information in Game Bytes is getting far too much for this little old code to handle anymore. Plus FTP and downloads are getting ridiculous. Just check out the size of this issue and what you had to do to get it all.
Another thing I like about this is that I can see how games would look in my computer. Not like those in the magazine where the pictures are really very small.
Yes, I think many would agree with you. It's far nicer to see the same screenshots behind the same glass as you do when you play the game.
You got Philippines covered. I'll be giving these issues to a software dealer friend of mine here and I'll let them distribute it to anyone who wants it. It IS okay, isn't it?
{In best Ren Hoek voice..}
..
NO! Absolutely NOT!
What!? Are you kidding?
More readers!!?
Why, you CRAZY FOOL!!
YOU BLOATED SACK ...
..
<GGGGGG>

..
Yes, of course, it's fine for you to let others distribute Game Bytes. In
its spirit, however, let's not be selling it.
BTW, I noticed that in some articles there are some spelling mistakes and probably errors in grammar, too.
WHAT? No waye, man. Their's no way their could be any misteaks like that in Game Bytes. And dangling participles? None that I could do with.
If you want, I could proofread the articles before you distribute it. I am currently the Assistant Editor-in-Chief in our campus paper. Our paper comes out only once or twice per semester so I got the time for this. It would be very fun and I would be willing to help.
I appreciate your support, but being half a planet away is a real chore in the 'timeliness' department.
Please don't make Game_Bytes a CD-ROM only mag!
O.K. Just because you asked nicely... we won't.
I know it's hard to keep your magazine fit only on 1.44 files, but please, do anything but that! Divide it into many 1.44 files, or whatever. I still don't have the money for a CD-ROM drive. I even don't have money for a sound card, yet. Many of your readers might be students, too, without a source of income yet.
How 'bout making it ON-LINE??? <G>
I've finished downloading the rest of your issues, except for the graphics files for GB04 to GB12. I'll get to them today. Can you distribute the next issue by November 8? It would be a great birthday gift for me from you guys.
Well, we're close, aren't we? Happy Birthday to you.... etc. etc..
Keep up the excellent work and I hope to follow you all through it's expansion and growth.
Thanks. (Sorry, I don't know 'THANKS' in Tagalog.)
