Explanation:

Shops are places where the adventurer may purchase equipment for his or her quests, and where he or she may sell treasures and booty. Many shops trade only in a specific type of merchandise. Thus, a baker may well refuse to buy armor, even if it is of the highest quality!

Shops are the mainstay of commerce and can be found scattered throughout the land. To see a list of products, type list. To make a purchase, type buy and the corresponding number. To appraise the value of a product, type value and then the name of the product you have. If you find that price to be acceptible, sell the object by typing sell and then the name of the object.

To some people, the prospect of obtaining the entire inventory of a shop by murdering the keeper may appear tempting - but beware: The shopkeepers are often rugged, capable men and women; roughened by years of trading and, indeed, surviving in a world where the only safe prospect is death in the end.

If you have been attacking or stealing from citizens, shopkeepers will refuse to serve you. All shopkeepers refuse to deal with people who try to conduct business with weapons in hand. Also, some shopkeepers refuse to serve certain races that they find particularly bothersome or vile.
