Topic: soaks

Explanation:

Soaks is a general term to used with armor to refer to the three specific soaks (versus cuts, impacts, and punctures). After the armor's stopping trims off damage, soak kicks in. A percentage of hit points will be further reduced by the armor's soak based on the type of damage being done. So for example you are being damaged by a sword, then your armor's cut soak will reduce the damage. Soaks are represented by a seven grade qualities: Worthless, Poor, Below Average, Average, Above Average, Excellent, and Superior.

When armor stops or soaks damage away, it transfers a percentage of that damage to itself. Over constant use, armor will become worse in condition, but remember it is working when it goes down in condition.
