The North Carolina School of Science and
Mathematics is a public residential high school for juniors and
seniors in Durham, North Carolina. In tenth grade, there is an
application process just like for a college. It is state-supported and
free, which is nice except for the fact that the food was just horrid
beyond belief, especially for vegetarians.
I lived in R.J. Reynolds Industries Pavilion, good ol' tobacco money, but hey--if they'll pay to remodel the building into a dorm, I'm not complaining. I lived on Ground C both years, in rooms RC14 then RC20. RC20 was a wonderful room, but it probably isn't so spacious without the loft. The whole school used to be a hospital. RC14 used to be the pathologist's office and RC20 used to be part of the chemistry lab.
