Treaty issues, alias positive discrimination

What noone has seemed to bring up is that that Don Brash speech was actually about people getting fed up about positive discrimination, as far as I see it. There must be a middle ground people can be persuaded to take at some point. I still see what people in the United States call 'affirmative action' of benefit (despite referenda going crazy), but using the Treaty of Waitangi to try and throw it all out isn't good. Ridding ourselves of the flavour of positive discrimination wholesale is bound to cause more injustices; we need that middle space.
