Training for the Ride

Katharine models a lovely cut-off T-Shirt. This look inspired a friend, and mentor cyclist to dub us Team T-Shirt.
Kat gets ready to roll early one Saturday morning. As seen here, in our early days of training, we looked a bit rag-tag -- hacking the sleeves off our t-shirts to keep cool and waiting until the next paycheck to purchase another bit of essential yet cool gear. Accordingly, as we learned later, our more experienced colleagues on the road (primarily male racers who would blow by in formation, fully outfitted in the latest moisture-wicking, form-fitting, color-blaring cycling wear) dubbed us "Team T-Shirt." Little did they know how we would evolve...

Here you can see Debra at a more advanced stage of GEARED-UP. She has upgraded from Tee to training tank and 8 panel riding shorts. With her funky cycling glasses (with 3 interchangeable lenses for various weather conditions) and her combination hydration system/back pack, she inspired Kat to break into song "Ground control to Major Tom...." We now refer to her as MAJOR D!
As the summer progressed, the team began to invest in more gear. By the day of the ride we completely geared up and ready to go!
