UTC is the abbreviation for Coordinated Universal Time. UTC is a kind of world time
and calculation is the same as with Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). That means also that
local time in London is the same as UTC time.

For example:
Singapore has an UTC time of UTC+8 as you can see in the second column of the
list below. If you want to know the local time in Singapore add 8 hours to
UTC time. (UTC 11:42 + 8 = 19:42 local time in Singapore.)

Second example:
If you donīt have UTC time, you can calculate with your local time:
You have to know the UTC value for your location and for the destination country.
When it is in New York (UTC-5) 10:35 local time, it is in Singapore (UTC+8)
23:35 local time.
Calculation: from UTC-5 to UTC=0 there are 5 hours, from UTC=0 to UTC+8, 8 hours
(= 10:35 + 5 + 8 = 23:35).
