216 safe colors image for Netscape browser
Netscape uses a palette of 216 colors to display images on a 256 color display. Images with other colors are displayed as a composition of these colors, they are 'dithered'.
If you want to have control how your images appear on other displays, you can use the 216 color palette as a basis for new images. These colors are not dithered by the browser.
You can use the 'Safe216' palette in two ways. Open the 'Safe216' image in your paint program and save its palette in an extra file. You can load that palette later as the color basis for a new blank image. If your paint program does not support separate palettes you can use the 'Safe216' image to select the colors directly with the color picker of your paint program from the open image.
