TIMEZONES

Local time:

This graphic helps you to find out the local time in other countries. You must count the boxes from your country to the destination country. Every box is one hour.

If you count on the line to the left - substract the number from your local time.
If you count on the line to the right - add the number to your local time.

For example: You are in London and your local time is 14.25. You want to know the local time in New York. New York is on the line left from Great Britain. Count the boxes from Great Britain (London) to the New York box. There are five boxes. This is a difference in local time from five hours. Because you count the line to the left, you must substract the five hours from your local time (14.25 - 5 = 9.25). In New York it is 9.25.
The minutes remain the same (exception: for India add 30 minutes to their local time).

If the destination country is on the line to the right, you count to the right and add the hours to your local time. When it is in London 14.25, it is in New Zealand 23.25 (nine boxes from Great Britain to the right: 14.25 + 9 = 23.25).
