PLUMB LEANER
This leaner is the most recent of a series spanning several years.
The PLUMB LEANER penetrates the ground and is further fastened with spikes.
From there it leans its heavy concrete, steel and lead body out over open
ground. Its head is hinged, and guided by the cast lead tip, hangs
straight down like the plumb bobs of the earlier works. The fiberglass
reinforced concrete skin will continue to indicate the corrosion of its
steel frame, becoming streaked with oxide as it ages. These iron
oxide streaks will run parallel to gravity indicating two ways in which
the the piece is being pulled towards the earth.
