Re: retention of awards and plaques

It is a mater of policy that all retired plaques are returned to the
archives. Periodically I inventory the ones installed throughout the
institution, check storage areas for errant ones. By doing this we can save
the hospital a good deal of embarrassment with donors, serve as a reference
for the Foundation and their fund raising activities.

I too am curious about this question. At the Benjamin Moore Archives there
are quite a few. As they take up ever more room, I am wondering what the
rationale is for retention. Perhaps we should we keep one or two of each
type
or only older ones, or only those with additional information. Would love to
hear how others handle this.
