New online databse of the BGC Archives

The Billy Graham Center Archives recently added a very simple
searchable online database to its web site. It can be found at
abigail.wheaton.edu/archives The BGC staff would be grateful for the
comments and critiques of any archivist who has a chance to visit the
database.

People can use this database to find out what collections in the
Archives have information on a particular topic. For example,
someone who enters the topic "Missions--China" would get a list of
brief descriptions of a few dozen collections in the BGC Archives with
information on that topic. Each brief description has a link on the right
that allows the searcher to go to complete guide being briefly
described and read the detailed description of that particular collection.
The subject heading are, mostly, in Library of Congress subject
heading format. Some instructions on using the database are at
http://www.wheaton.edu/bgc/archives/instruct.html and a list of all
the subjects used is at:
http://www.wheaton.edu/bgc/archives/subjects.htm
