Dear Joan E. Denman:

The Swarthmore College Peace Collection has several large collections
concerning men and women who were conscientious objectors to World
War II. We have records from the Civilian Public Service Camps where
men served, including hosptials and medical experiments, over 12,000
personnel records of the men who were assigned to the CPS camps, and
family papers of the men.

The collections are listed as:

Records of the American Friends Service Committee-Civilian Public Service
Records of the National Interreligious Service Board for
Conscientious Objectors
Civilian Public Service-Personal Papers and Related Materials

Records of the Civilian Public Service Union
<http://www.swarthmore.edu/Library/peace/DG001-025/DG008CPSUnion.html>
Records of the American Civil Liberties Union, National Committee on
Conscientious Objection

Not all of these collections have finding aids that are online yet.

Best,

Wendy Chmielewski
