CALL FOR COMMENT
Functional Requirements for a Victorian Electronic Records Strategy
(Australia) compliant Record Keeping System

Comments are sought on the Exposure Draft "Functional Requirements for a
VERS compliant Record Keeping System within the Department of
Infrastructure".

As part of the Victorian Electronic Records Strategy (VERS), the Victorian
(Australia) Department of Infrastructure (DOI) is developing a
comprehensive record keeping system that will cover the business records
lifecycle of both paper and electronic records from capture through to long
term records archiving.

The functional requirements for a VERS compliant Record Keeping System have
been compiled into the Exposure Draft. Comments are requested from
interested parties regarding the functionality specified in the Exposure
Draft, by Friday 31st March 2000.

The Department intends that these functional requirements will be
incorporated in the specification of a system for which it proposes to call
tenders publicly in April 2000. The Department will, however, review the
specification in the light of responses to this advertisement and may amend
it for this or other reasons.

A copy of the Exposure Draft can be obtained from

o the VERS website: http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/vers/

o the Victorian Government Purchasing Board website: http://

Further information regarding the Exposure Draft and background can be
found on the VERS website http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/vers/
