Re: advice needed



You could always bring up collection development (I'm in a similar position,
though the processing is far from finished).  Explain to your laymen that there
are always additional materials that could be added to strengthen the
collection.  If your materials are from the organization itself, they're going
to keep creating records, and you'll always need to continue your development.

If you're working with a single group of materials (e.g. a donation from someone
who's passed on), you can always point out that there could be related
collections that are worth soliciting.

Add to that ongoing reference, preservation, outreach, exhibits, and you've got
an awful lot of work remaining to do.
