I remember several years ago one of the major library magazines included an article that suggested that if librarians organized and went on strike, no one would notice....

I've got news for you.  Two of the archivists here are Classified employees,
thus represented by a union, and THEY don't know what we should be paid, or
respect us for the education and experience we bring to the job.  Very
frustrating.
