InfraSearch as tool for archivists?

The folks responsible for Gnutella, an innovative and controversial
distributed file sharing technology, have recently released a "proof of
technology" search engine called InfraSearch
http://www.infrasearch.com/

It has the potential to manage queries that go beyond the question mark,
i.e. deal with dynamic content that would normally be invisible to a Web
crawler.

I think this sort of tool has amazing promise for both archival tools
that don't get crawled well by conventional search engines (e.g. finding
aids in EAD, search and navigation interfaces to digital libraries) and
for efforts to "archive the Internet" which normally run into lots of
problems related to dynamic content.

There's been some discussion on other lists recently about how Gnutella
may relate to existing distributed query approaches such as Z39.50. And
I have no definite answer to that question. But I'd love to hear
ideas/reactions from others.
