Logging vs shotlisting video tapes

Dear List,

I have a question related to the cataloguing of videotapes:
What is the difference between producing a "log" and a "shot list" of tapes, or between "logging" and "shotlisting"? Are they basically the same or are they different creatures? Is logging just a more detailed version of shotlisting, with spoken words etc?

Please enlighten me! Thanks!

Bill Cox
