Tulane Manuscripts collection policy

I've just finished the first draft of a collection development policy for
the Tulane Manuscripts Department. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone
interested in this sort of thing.

Some of you with collection development policies on the web will spot
instances where I was "inspired" by your work (as Martha Stewart once put it
when she was sued in a copyright case over a recipe). Policies I found
especially helpful, and from which I borrowed shamelessly, were those for
LSU Baton Rouge Special Collections
(http://www.lib.lsu.edu/collserv/colldev/policies/louisianalowmis.html) and
the University of Pennsylvania
(http://www.library.upenn.edu/special/mspolicy.html).

My policy draft can be found at:
http://www.tulane.edu/~html/temp/manupolicy.htm. Some sections may seem a
little odd because I was bound by a library-wide format intended for book
acquisitions policies. Also, this is the first stage of a two-part,
library-wide process at Tulane. Once our development policies are finalized,
we will analyze our holdings against our development policies to gauge the
strengths and weakness of our collections.

Thanks, Lee
