Re: "Sound Scriber" disc



I remember using something very much like
what you are describing back in the late 1940's
and early 1950's, to send messages to a relative
who was overseas.  We recorded our messages
and then mailed the floppy record-like disk to the
relative.  He then would listen to it, and record over
it and send it back to us.

As far as I can remember, you do need a special
machine to play the recordings.  A regular record
player will not work.
