Re: Guidelines for transcription / editing

I just happen to be giving a talk about this tomorrow at the Federation
of Genealogical Societies conference in Salt Lake, and writing a book
about it--documentary editing practices for family historians. The best
guidebook out right now is Michael Stevens and Steven Burg, EDITING
HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS: A HANDBOOK OF PRACTICE (AASLH 1997).
