Re: Dutch Elm Disease

To the original querier and the List:

California's capital city, Sacramneto, is regionally famous for its
remaining urban forest of American elms, most of which were planted within
its so-called "old city" area in the mid-19th century, and many of which
(older and newer) have been or are being steadily ravaged by disease and
general old-age.

Perhaps an archivist at the Sacramento Archives & Museum Collection Center
(SAMCC) can help direct the patron to sources of Sacramento elm photos or
other pertinent reference
materials [Stacia or Pat...do you copy?]. Sorry -- I don't have SAMCC's
email address handy... try telephoning them at 916-264-7072.
