Re: Pesticides and Spraying in an Archives.
Rob - here are 3 less toxic remedies you might try: (1) powdered boric
acid; (2) diatomaceous earth; (3) bay leaves. Place along the outer edges
of the rooms. (1) & (2) work by not only poisoning the critters when they
ingest it, but also by clogging their pores and suffocating them. (3)
prevents them from coming in in the first place. Is "Combat" some kind of
trap? Good luck.... Jill.

Greetings Fellow Listers,
We have recently been noticing a number of roaches in the Archives. We are
situated in a building at a community college. The college recently was
sprayed by the exterminators however i ask them not to spray in the
archives office area and definately would not allow them to spray in the
storage rooms. But now we seem to have become a "safe haven" for the
surviving roaches.
Is there any pesticide (beyone Combat, which we have purchased and placed
where the roaches have been sited the most) that can be safely used in an
Archivial setting?
Thanks in advance for all your thoughts and comments.
Sincerely
Rob Dishon
