Five.

  1. You have the summer and plenty of money to travel abroad. Where all would you go?

Um, everywhere? I’d travel around, with no real itenirary, staying in places that fascinated me, and passing through those that didn’t. Lots of friends have recommended spots that I’d probably check out: Scotland, Ireland, Amsterdam, Germany, India, Russia, Australia, England, Japan. Though probably not in that order.

  2. What foods would you be sure you got to eat?

Mmmm… local dishes from everywhere. Holes-in-the-walls. Fish and Chips in Europe. Noodles from a noodle cart, things grilled on skewers, pastries and fine, fine chocolates that have things like pepper or ginger or rosewater in them. Likely a lot of Cadbury. (Oh, how the purple wrapper connotes “Fine Chocolate.”)

  3. What landmarks would you be sure you got to see?

Museums. Feats of architecture. Bodies of water. Ancient monuments. Endless green places. Stuff like that.

  4. What airline would you use?

Several of them, probably. If money is no object, I’ll be taking those flights first-class, though.

  5. Would your knowledge of other languages influence where you went? (i.e. would you be more likely to go to France if you spoke French?)

We’ll see, I guess. I wouldn’t say that I’m too proficient with any language except English–what little German I recall could get me to the WC and a drink (bier, wasser, Coca-Cola?), but not much more.
