Halloween, part 2

Progress:

  • K got four bags of party food in the deep freeze over the weekend. A double batch of wontons, and another of mummy toes. Also, sausage balls.
  • Three trips to Lowe’s. The first lasted three, almost four, hours. The second was an hour, to exchange the pansy-ass drill the guy sold me on for one that would actually do the job. The third also took about an hour. That would be the one where we went to get the lumber we forgot on trip #1. The lumber we picked out, had cut, took to the register, paid for, then set aside while we wrangled PVC. Sigh.
  • 2 4-foot sections of faux fencing, 40 inches tall. It’s not painted, and there’s two more sections still in pieces. It’s based off this pattern. It required the purchase of aforementioned non-wimpy drill. Which is awesome. Also, the fence is turning out well. B and I made short work and had a fine time.
  • Consideration of lighting issues. We always have lighting issues. Oh, for a house that didn’t have electricity issues. And had more outlets. And actual lights that work outside. Grrr.
  • At the moment, the chiller is on hold. One could say I got cold feet. Or, rather, that I don’t feel confident enough in its success to make it high in priority.
  • Tomorrow: after-work trip to the craft and fabric stores. Needs: foam core/florist foam, remnant fabrics, burlap and some sort of rough rope. Also, finials.

It is certainly underway. Oh, what joy!
