Home ownership, part 1.
A certain number of days have passed (I’m not really certain how many at this point), and I’ve owned a house for a couple of weeks. I’m mostly moved in. Halloween and Christmas were summarily disgorged from the attic of the old place today, on a sweaty-as-fuck July afternoon.
Nearly everything from inside–save hardware, since I keep forgetting to take over the power screwdriver–is in the new house. The stuff outside? Flowerpots and tools remain, and the massive pile of holiday tacky piled in the old living room. I’m hoping to ride out July with frequent, smaller loads but eventually, finally, quickly… get everything done.
The holiday passed in a blur. Moving and unpacking until I dropped, waking up and doing it all over again. It wasn’t much of a vacation… but it’s certainly worth it in the end.
Update on the stinging insect front: I think I need to invest in Raid. It’s going to be that kind of war.
I’d post about dinner but nobody needs recipes for Totino’s Pizza Rolls and Frank & Beans. Until the new stove comes in, it’s dorm-time dining for me. I’m thinking, though, I’ll whip out the crock pot next weekend and make some real food.
If I live through the rest of the week. I’ve got a pile of editing to do, prep for this summer camp business, and pull up the trim and linoleum in kitten’s bathroom so the new tile can go down. Woo doggies.

Chemical warfare against stinging insects, eh? Well, I suppose you are reacting basically in self-defense or at least without any real choice. I’m sure there’s some hippie concoction for killing poisonous darts, with the proper google prowess. But I can’t vouch for any, I got the can of raid meant to shoot down flying hornets at 30 feet.
