Where have all the hours gone?
I am mostly moved in now. Still lots of things in boxes, but the boxes are in closets and that makes all the difference. I have had my first few friends over for dinner. We’ve gamed in the huge living room. A guest has spent the night in the guest bed. I’ve painted a room.
Aye, it’s a very wee room, but I put new floor in, too. And it looks great.
That, plus the unpacking, plus the assembling, plus the moving of the same piece of furniture three thousand times… plus the frequent admiring that is necessary in one’s first house… has certainly put a dent in the blogging about it.
Hopefully things will quiet down a bit… someday soon. And I might return to having interesting things to say before I pass out for the evening.
When I’m not writing a story about a bunch of vampires running around an amusement part located in Florida.
For the vampires (who know who they are)
Speaking of those vampires–they should totally start the backstory preparations for their identities. The year is this year, but it’s November. You’re all to end up Dizney somehow (we’re spelling it with a ‘z’ because we KNOW the Mouse surfs the interwebs), either on a visit or with more permanent intentions. The method that you get there is TBD, but your character’s background needs to allow him or her to pick up and go from absolutely wherever in the world you want to be to Florida by Nov. 4.
Other races are ok, I suppose, though if you’re mortal you’re going to end up dead again, most likely. Possibly undead. Garou… if you must. But that makes it a PC vs PC game so things will be interesting. I’d recommend Vampires, all, just for the simplicity. But if you simply MUST, whatever.
Age and skill? Oh, I don’t know. Write something up. We’ll add on some equalizers as necessary, and we’ll hand out points to spend at the first session. You’ll just be spending them according to the backstory you have in your head. Or on paper. Whatever works.
You might also need the backstory to role-play your trip’s inception, when we next meet.
The details
You know some stuff. You probably know that Dizney in the WoD is run by the Camarilla, even if it is in the middle of a Garou-infested swamp. You know it’s an eerily perfect sort of place, a great resort town for mortals and, it is rumored, Kine. People just love going there. It’s the happiest godforsaken place on earth.
Only the wealthy and worth-knowing, however, really see the sights that Dizney can offer. Are you one of them?
Or you might get to see the scene behind the scene as a cast member or working-vampire in the organization. You might get some of the same picture as a nosy reporter or curious onlooker.
Or are you seeking the typical experience replete with mouse ears and overprocessed sugary crap? And you just stumbled into this mess accidentally.
That’s kind of up to you.
Enjoy.

Since character creation is imminent, what version are we using? 2nd, 3rd, or Requiem? Also, can I be a WerewolfVampireMageFairyGolem? Dolphin?

We can use whatever version ya’ll want to play with. It’s not like I know the rules anyway, and I can make out a cheatsheet for any of the versions, I suppose. Like I can be bounded by silly rules. I thought the call was for a return to the “old” rules, but I could be mistaken.
Also, you can be whatever you want to be. Werewolves may be short-lived, and other non-supernaturals might get eaten, but… whatever. Now if what you’re asking is if you can be a multi-class PC? If you can come up with a backstory that convinces me and the group… sure.

I’m cool with any version. I still haven’t decided what I want to play, though. Mortal with Numina? Ghoul? Vampy-vamp? GAH.

You’ll have Withrow to start, so you’ll have some time to pick up a new ID. If you want, of course. We can play Withrow as an NPC if you want to go all-newbie. Or storytell some. I’ve got some sketchy details and some detailed details. We’ll talk. :)

I’ve decided to play a Mage as my new PC - so, I’ll be a mortal, but one with t3h s00per p0wrz, but it’s going to be awfully nice to get to play Withrow at first. :)
Whee!
I am tapping my toes as we speak!

Woot! OK. I’ll shut up soon (maybe), but I cannot get over how fun it’s going to be to convert Withrow to the new version. Like, I honestly will really enjoy that.
:)

Woot. Now I have to read up on the new version… I will need to borrow some books. Volunteers?
