Halloween, part 2

The first guests arrive tomorrow and things are in full Halloween mode here at the house. The frequent bouts of rain have slowed the construction and lighting progress, but with Thursday and Friday off (and Thursday currently promising no rain), hopefully most of the remainder will get done in time.

The new neighbors have been duly warned–it still remains to be seen if any of them will show up on Saturday. It also remains to be seen what the crowd will be like this year–as usual, few RSVPs don’t necessarily mean a smaller crowd, though a smaller event would be ideal given the hectic nature of this year’s prep.

Today I was out doing a bit of last minute errand-running, and stumbled upon a cache of which I’ve rarely seen the likes before–Coconuts is simply loaded with Nightmare collectibles, and I must admit more than a couple came home with me. Some I justified as necessary party supplies, and others were simply must-haves. By a stroke of luck, today was the release day for the new Nightmare soundtrack–same as the old one, except for the second CD full of covers! And what could be more invigorating then a Marilyn Manson cover of This is Halloween? Not much, I tell you.

The to-do list is long, and before I head to bed tonight I’ve got to get the spare room ready for the incoming guests. So off I go on my merry Halloween way. Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday night!
