24: season 6, hours 3 and 4
Again, if you ever plan on watching 24 and not knowing what happens, go away.
- Chloe, he doesn’t have a lot of time. He never has a lot of time. Get on with it.
- I really do like this Dr. Bashir. But I still feel he is likely to be incredibly short-lived. As is Sandra’s pal, Walid.
- I’m not so fond of the turn that Kumar took after his trip to White Castle. Ah-med needs to get on with the burger boys and perhaps chill out a bit.
- Awww, President Palmer 2 has a shrine to President Palmer 1. How sweet.
- Shut up, Curtis. You still live in a black and white world. And Jack? He’s covered in shades of grey.
- I love the incredibly photogenic secret cameras. It’s like they have a TV crew lighting and shooting every dark alley and warehouse interior.
- I love Chloe.
Chloe: “It’s the 6500 block of Alderton.”
Agent Yassir: “Bring up the data on all commercial and residential buildings within a half-mile and then begin a pre-sort.”
Chloe: “You mean, like I’m doing already?” - Curtis, you’re a dick. Ok, so he’s a terrorist. But he’s Jack’s only badass friend in the world right now–and he’s in need of some badass. (And, you know, even though you’re a dick, Jack still manages to save your ass. Sheesh.)
- Wow, the Special Agent in Charge of loading the prisoners really reminds me of someone I used to know. All skinny and bossy and sorta lookin’ like an elf. Damn.
- And, aye, every year some innocent is corrupted. This year’s victim–Suburban Dad. Aww.
- And Walid, who is so totally going to get a beat down. Poor Walid.
- Bashir is totally hot, especially when he’s glaring at Curtis.
- And OMG! Aiee! My ex-flame is totally a terrorist!
- Jack’s mortal wounds, so far: survived head-on car collision in pursuit of Omar; nearly blown up by grenade and munitions explosion at storage warehouse. Again, another light episode for Agent Bauer.
- Viewer discretion is advised? No shit, it’s 24.
- By the by, the whole switching sides business? Hee. A long and storied Surnow trademark.
- Ew, McBeal, you’re fucking creepy.
- Presidential call #2. Those Palmers always need Jack. Awww.
- Suburban family drama. Yawn. And, aye, once again this family’s trust of the Man is going to get them in trouble. I’d totally bet Jack’s gonna be invading suburbia within 10 minutes.
- OMG OMG OMG–ew, Chloe personal issues ew ew ew.
- Jack is totally invading suburbia.
- Also, so, ok–Jack has already been proven wrong about a suspect’s guilt or innocence once before. And now Curtis–formerly his best ally–seems to believe he is somehow amiss with regard to Bashir’s allegiance. Oh, this is not going to go well.
- McBeal is about to totally junk on the president’s sister. Shades of President Weasel and his wife. Woo!
- Bye, Suburban Dad. Bye Suburban Kid. Well, maybe. I think Ah-med will also fall victim to the writer’s fascination with ‘innocence,’ and thus save Suburban Kid. But dad’s a goner. If the terrorists don’t shoot him, he’ll die in the ensuing chaos.
- Ooooh, this can’t be good.
McBeal: “I do have to say, Mr. President, I still don’t like this.”
Palmer: “I understand. And it makes me appreciate your loyalty all the more, Tom.”Oh, that McBeal is up to no good. No good at all.
- Ah, man. Poor Curtis. I hate it when Jack has to kill his friends. I think he’s gonna just pause now and have himself a bit of a breakdown. I mean, who wouldn’t?
- Aaaaaaand, the cliffhanger raid. Very Nikita. Blue and drapery. Though much more urban than the steel of the canadian sets. Aaaaaaand, nuclear bomb. I hate it when the bomb goes off. And Jack…. Jack is way too close. On this season’s 24: Mutant Jack. Oh wait, in the closer shot, maybe he’s not.
- So, ok, nuclear bomb. That’s certainly one way to go with the season opener.
- And, yay, next week? Jack gets to torture ER’s Dr. Romano. I’ve always wanted someone to torture Dr. Romano. Having his arm chopped off and then being smashed by the object of his greatest fear until dead was just… I don’t know… not enough. Having Jack Bauer work him over… might finally just about cover it.
- jack’s mortal wounds so far: surprisingly–unless you count a little nausea on account of murdering one of his closest friends by shooting him in the neck–Jack made it through this episode almost entirely unscathed. Unless of course you count that he just watched a nuclear bomb go off, which could very well radiation poison him to death. Unpleasantly.
