As usual, we're hauling out the creepy cookbooks and making up some ghoulish treats. We're not doing dinner -- though we may decide to grill if people stay too late and we get too hungry -- but heavy appetizers and generally nummy treats await. If you're vegetarian, or have a low-cal low-fat low-taste diet, we'll try to have a veggie tray for you to nibble at... or some cardboard or something...
Here's some of what we're thinking about preparing (menu far from final):
Sweet
Lady Fingers (prepared by Kath's mom!)
Cupcakes
Mini Cheesecakes (back by popular demand)
Assorted Cookies
Pumpkin Bars
Caramel Apple biscuit cups
Fruit tray w/ dip
Various seasonal candies/favors
Salty
Flesh on a Stick w/ Sludge Sauce (Chicken Satay & Peanut Sauce)
Weiner Mummies
Sweet and Sour Eye (I mean Meat) Balls
Pretzels
Chips & Dip
Tortilla Chips & Salsa
Skin Pouches stuffed with Ground Flesh (Pot Stickers)
Nuts, nuts, nuts
Baked Brie in Pastry
Assorted Cheese and Crackers
Beverage
* keg of some Carolina Brewery beer
sodas (Pepsi, Diet Coke, Coke, Sprite/7UP)
bottled water (it's a rule if you live in Cary to serve this stuff. really.)
* bottle of cheap wine
one specialty drink (either Pumpkin Milkshakes or Spiced Cider, or something like that)
disgustingly sweet green foamy halloween punch of some sort (seasonal requirement)
* alcoholic
