deck the halls with boughs of evergreen

Via Ed Summers, I see that linux.com is running an article on evergreen. Also, Art Rhyno has announced that the University of Windsor is going to change their system over to Evergreen.

I haven’t had a chance to install evergreen yet, but I have had the funding approved for the library-in-a-box project to buy a nice new linux server for the installation tests we need to do. That will be one of my big projects in January.

I’ll also apparently be blogging in an official capacity for eIFL. I’m not sure yet what that’s going to look like, except that I’ll clearly need to increase my output. I’m hoping I can make it more of a group blog about open source for libraries in the developing world, and that I can get some folks from eIFL supported libraries to contribute.

I’m the meantime, I’m laying low for a week in surprisingly warm Ontario, trying to write some funding documents and mission statements for eIFL-FOSS, and watching guilty pleasure TV. Right now Fame! is on. I’m hoping for a DeGrassi Junior High marathon later this week.
