B-Greek archive site under construction

As a temporary measure until we can build a more complete, searchable, on-line
B-Greek archive, I have added a simple download link for BGREEK.ZIP on The
GRAMCORD Institute website.

The file BGREEK.ZIP contains all of the B-GREEK DIGESTs from November 1,
1995 through March 12, 1996. The download link is an entry in our "News
Update" section of the main homepage at http://www.gramcord.org.

It is 918kb in size so it shouldn't take long to download it via your usual
web-browser. Because it is a compressed zip file, you will need PKUNZIP or a
compatible utility to turn it back into one big text file. (Actually, it is
a Eudora
.MBX file but you can read/search it in most any word-processor.)

As I mentioned, we plan to have a much better searchable archive later but it is
proving to be rather complicated to implement all of the features we would
like. If anyone has suggestions on the functions they would like to see
supported on an on-line forum archive search system, please drop me an
email. And, yes, one of my first tasks is to write a filter that will remove
SUBSCRIBE messages and magazine solicitations! (Due to a very high volume of
email, I can't promise a response to every suggestion but your ideas will
indeed be fully considered and appreciated.)

At a future date we will be looking for a complete set of all B-Hebrew and
B-Greek digests so that our website archives can contain the maximum number
of "back-issues" possible. If someone has preserved a COMPLETE collection of
these digests and is willing to share them, we would appreciate a summary of
their scope, size, and file format via an email note. We look forward to
offering this resource as a free on-line public service of The GRAMCORD
Institute.

Incidentally, the demo version of our Accordance/GRAMCORD Biblical language
research system for the Macintosh is also now available via our website. It
is a downloadable 300kb .sit file for demo version 1.1.
