I was looking at the last part of John 2:22... καὶ ἐπίστευσαν τῇ γραφῇ καὶ τῷ λόγῳ ὃν εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς At first it seemed obvious to me that the relative clause at the end went only with "τῷ λόγῳ" since "ὃν" matches its gender and not the gender of "τῇ γραφῇ" However, I s...

This probably has a simple answer but I can't find anything in the books that I own... My understanding is that the case, number, and gender of an attributive should match the word that it modifies. In several places (e.g. Matt. 19:16) I find "ζωὴν αἰώνιον." To my relatively untrained eye ...
