Re: Resource for finding Greek roots

which resource lists the roots of Greek words Depending on what you mean by "roots" and "Greek words", you might be looking for an "analytical lexicon," where you can look up a Greek word as you find it written in a sentence, and it will tell you what its lexical form (root) is, and how it has been...

Re: Extended Greek Passage to Memorize

I'd second the Psalms and also suggest the rest of Matthew 5-7; Romans 5:1-11; 1 Corinthians 13; 15:1-11; Philippians 2:5-11; Exodus 20:1-21.

Audio for the whole Greek Bible (modern pronunciation, ancient text, quite fast) is available here: http://listen.bible.is/GRKEPT/Matt/5

Re: Understanding copyright of personal greek translation work?

Stanley Porter writes an interesting article in his recent book "Linguistic Analysis of the Greek new Testament", its chapter 1, titled "Who owns the Greek Text of the New Testament? Issues that Promote and Hinder Further Study" Thanks for pointing this out, Jacob. I mentioned in another thread her...

Re: Understanding copyright of personal greek translation wo

The lack of a freely licensed, high-quality English translation drives me nuts, I could really use one for parallel aligned syntax trees, and other people could use them to produce other high-quality resources for people using original languages. If anyone knows of a good one, please do let me know...

Re: Needed - An Open, Trustworthy, Trusted Greek Text

Is the text of OpenGNT basically the NA28 and therefore subject to the same licensing restrictions? I've seen an argument that if the NA28 or UBS etc. claim to be as close as possible to the original, then they ought to be considered public domain by virtue of their age. St. Paul's copyrights lapsed...

Re: Online Texts (Byzantine Majority; Westcott-Hort)

Bible hub as far as I know doesn't give you the ability to compare Robinson-Pierpont with Westcott-Hort, SBLGNT, THGNT, ... The StepBible does that. You can display all four editions with the interleave plus comparison option found on the menu under the little gear symbol in the upper right of the ...

Re: Online Texts (Byzantine Majority; Westcott-Hort)

I have been learning Mark verse by verse with the limited resources. This is how I have been learning: On the first day I learn verse 1. I listen to mp3s by this order: Prof. Robinson (slow speed), Louis Sorenson (moderate), Marilyn Phemister (medium), John Simon (quick) and Vasilios Vellas (fast)....

Re: Greek Byzantine New Testament MP3

The Maurice Robinson recordings are included in BibleWorks (while they are still open for the next week or so). Their closure might mean someone else (Accordance?) picks up their catalogue to resell. I think Accordance uses the John Schwandt recordings, as does Logos. I think you're right. BibleWor...

The Maurice Robinson recordings are included in BibleWorks (while they are still open for the next week or so). Their closure might mean someone else (Accordance?) picks up their catalogue to resell. This other NT recording is not from the Hellenic Bible Society, and is a bit quick, but it is clear ...
