Psalm 118:50,56

118:50 αὕτη με παρεκάλεσεν ἐν τῇ ταπεινώσει μου ὅτι τὸ λόγιόν σου ἔζησέν με

118:56 αὕτη ἐγενήθη μοι ὅτι τὰ δικαιώματά σου ἐξεζήτησα

What's the antecent of the demonstrative pronoun in these two verses? Or is it feminine because of some underlying word in the Hebrew?

Thanks!

Re: Campbell, Basics of Verbal Aspect, 2nd edition

Let me offer a few comments from the perspective of someone who is certainly not (yet) an expert :) Back in 2016 when I began trying to (re)learn NT Greek in my old age, I bought several books including Campbell's Basics Of Verbal Aspect In Bible Greek . After I read it I thought, "Ah, he makes...

Re: John 6:58 - οὐ καθὼς ἔφαγον οἱ πατέρες καὶ ἀπέθανον·

Matthew Longhorn said: One of my pet peeves is hearing people refer to participles as “this is a concessive participle” and not note that that is an interpretation of it in context, and not a separate kind of word from other participles You might like then how the Cambridge Grammar of Classical Gree...

Re: Common Hebraisms in LXX Greek?

Thanks for this. I've had a quick look thru a dozen pages or so of this, and also done a bit more research, and I'm now wondering how reliable some of Conybeare's inferences are. For example regarding section 80. Misuse of the Participle Conybeare says "But we find sentences in the LXX in which...

Common Hebraisms in LXX Greek?

Following up on my previous question which Jason answered, I was wondering if someone has put together a list of common Hebraisms in the LXX that can help me in my reading of the LXX. By googling I found the article "Hebraisms in the Greek Versions of the Hebrew Bible" on Academia.edu, but...

"Doubled" verbs in Gen 15:13 and 16:10

Re: ὁ Αμορις in Gen 14:13

Fascinating. So Chrysostom says Μαμβρη was Abram's neighbor (ὅμορος)? It seems like Chrysostom must have read ὁ Αμορις and thought, No that can't be right, and found a more logical (and similar-sounding) Greek word to replace it. Was Chrysostom translating from the Hebrew in his commentary, or was h...

Sorry I meant "case" of the article not "declension".
