Re: Greek Retroversion of the Last Chapters of the Shepherd?

I checked those resources (even the foreign ones, like the one in French), and none of them provide it... I think AI is unhelpful when asking for specifics, as those are good general resources but don't give the retroversion I want. If someone knows of an attempt in a scholarly article or journal pl...

Greek Retroversion of the Last Chapters of the Shepherd?

Has there been any scholarly (not AI) attempt to retrovert the Latin of the last chapters of the Shepherd (Ch. 107-114) back into Greek?

Question about the lengthened vs unlengthened augment for same parsings

I noticed in Matt. 22:46 you have ἐδύνατο, while in John 9:33 you have ἠδύνατο. Both are Imperfect middle ind. 3rd singular, as far as I can tell... I suppose the anomalous one is the form in John. What is the reason for it being lengthened? Also, I noticed in the Gottingen version of the first few ...

Re: General question about future editions of the AF

That's funny...

Google definitely gave me the impression he passed away. I had a hard time finding anything he published after 2016. But I'm glad to know he is still alive. This is wonderful!

General question about future editions of the AF

I was a bit late in finding out (and sad in doing so) that Holmes passed away in 2016 (may he rest in peace in the Lord). Holmes left us with his The Apostolic Fathers: Greek Texts and English Translations in the 3rd edition. But it is already a bit dated. I saw some new fragments were discovered of...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

In the phrase Μαρίαν τὴν Γαλιλαῖαν, να δι᾽ ἧς σαρκὸς, the να should be ἵνα. The iota is clearly visible in the manuscript.

Restoration of the Latin Sections of the Shepherd of Hermas back into Greek

Anyone who has seen the text of the Shepherd knows that the end of it has been preserved only in Latin (aside from some small scattered sections within that have Greek fragments. I'm interested in restoring that text back into the now lost Greek. Have there been any attempts to do this in the past? ...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

In the link I posted previously (also here below), the 3rd Corinthians text begins on the image 040. https://bodmerlab.unige.ch/fr/constellations/papyri/mirador/1072205366?page=040 I am still checking it myself. But if anyone notices anything that needs to be updated in the final product S Walch pro...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

Thanks everyone for commenting and all the help. Especially a big thanks to S Walch. High quality images of the manuscript can be viewed here. It includes 1-2 Peter, Jude, the Infancy Gospel of James, and 3rd Corinthians. https://bodmerlab.unige.ch/fr/constellations/papyri/barcode/1072205366 They ca...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

ἄννων is another word that doesn't exist. I'm wondering if it is meant to be a participle from something like ανοεω?
