Re: The Testament of Asher, Concerning Two Faces of Vice and Virtue
the 1978 text by deJonge you pointed to earlier is more authoritative. (The Google books link brought me to an inaccessible page.) Sorry about the Google Page being inaccessible. In my browser, Chapter I was accessible, later Chapters were inaccessible, but I could scroll down to get to Chapter IV....

Re: The Testament of Asher, Concerning Two Faces of Vice and Virtue
Ruslana Khazarzar's Library gives the Greek text for Chapter IV, verse 3 as: 3. Re: Does the Didache say αφες ημιν την οφειλην ημων (Forgive us Our Debts) or is the phrase missing?
I've not studied the textual variants in the Didache so I cannot speak to the variants. Is the textualcriticism website right in it's rendering or did it drop a clause by accident ? If so, does the Loeb edition have any text critical notes on this passage ? Curiously the ccel.org edition would appe...

Does the Didache say αφες ημιν την οφειλην ημων (Forgive us Our Debts) or is the phrase missing?
I have found versions of the Didache that include the phrase αφες ημιν την οφειλην ημων ("Forgive us our debts") in the Lord's Prayer and I have found versions of the Didache that do not include it. Yet the Textual Criticism website says: "The only known complete Didache in Greek is t...

GOSPEL FRAGMENT OXYRHYNCHUS PAPYRUS №1224 (50-150 AD) Questions
I understand that the forum does not address issues of translation, theology, and text meaning criticism. So here, as part of my studying the potential first century Christian writings, I want to ask about text reconstruction. Papyrus 1224 contains sayings of Jesus outside of the canonical New Testa...

Re: The Testament of Asher, Concerning Two Faces of Vice and Virtue
OK, thanks for clarifying. I was only able to find one Greek text for this, although I expect that there may be others, since there are several manuscripts that R.H. Charles used.
Regards.

Re: The Testament of Asher, Concerning Two Faces of Vice and Virtue
I am interested in your comments, if any, when comparing the Greek with the two translations.

The Testament of Asher, Concerning Two Faces of Vice and Virtue
The Testament of Asher is one of the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, which is apparently a 1st to 2nd century Christian composition based on pre-Christian Jewish texts. The Testament of Asher focuses in part on duplicity of character, wherein people show both good and evil. The Testament of Ash...
