Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

I personally think εριξ is either a transcription error or spelling error for θριξ. !!! SNIP !!! Καὶ μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας ἐκ τοῦ κατωτάτου ᾅδου ἐπήκουσεν ὁ Θεὸς προσευχομένου Ἰωνᾶ καὶ οὐδὲν αὐτοῦ διεφθάρη οὔτε θρὶξ οὔτε βλέφαρον And after three days and three nights, from out of the d...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

I think that might actually be the nomen sacrum ΑΝΩΝ for ἀνθρώπων (as there's a few nomina sacra not filled out in the initial transcription: ανπου (ἀνθρώπου), Χρν (Χριστὸν), Ιην (Ἰησοῦν) etc). Εἴ τις παραβαίνει ταῦτα τὸ πῦρ ἐστι μετ’ αὐτοῦ… οὕτως προοδυπόρ…μαθητῶν ἀνθρώπων. If anyone transgresses ...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

Its responses were pretty helpful. The only one left is ἔριξ, which is apparently "hair." I'm just not sure how translators arrive at that translation. I can't find that word in anything of the period or earlier. Here's the sentence: Καὶ μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας ἐκ τοῦ κατωτάτου...

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

ChatGPT will always get some things wrong. Overall, though, did it make your job easier? I'm feeling lazy, so I asked ChatGPT to answer your questions. Let's see how well it did - what errors do people see in this output? Brownie points for each error someone spots ... 1. Lexical Forms : - φθορείμεο...

Re: Relative pronouns in Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18

Grammatically, a relative pronoun can refer to people. This comes to mind:
Ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκούειν ἀκουέτω.
In context, I think it's useful to look at commentaries for a wide range of possible interpretations of these verses.

Re: pray for the whole armor of all saints

I am not convinced that linjting was a real user. The content looked like it may have been generated. He did not respond to feedback. He kept posting new threads as though nothing had been said. His email was suspicious.

If I am wrong, I hope he will let me know.

Re: 3 Corinthians, adding accents and punctuation marks

I ran this through ChatGPT. It added accents, but also modernized some spellings and corrected some transcription errors. Check this please, and any corrections from forum members would be appreciated. But maybe this can save you time? ΚΟΡΙΝΘΕΙΟΙ ΠΡΟΣ ΠΑΥΛΟΝ Στεφανᾶς καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ πρεσβύτεροι Δάφνος ...

Matthew 9:5 "Tι γάρ εστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν· Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν· Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;" εὐκοπώτερον is made up of ευ and κοπωτερον, which is used to describe 'to torment a person' like cutting a stone, plus the prefix ευ which means 'to torment less'. This verse literall...

Ephesus 6:18 “διὰ πάσης προσευχῆς καὶ δεήσεως, προσευχόμενοι ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ ἐν πνεύματι, καὶ εἰς αὐτὸ ἀγρυπνοῦντες ἐν πάσῃ προσκαρτερήσει καὶ δεήσει περὶ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων.” the αὐτὸ refers to the whole armor of God mentioned in the previous verses. Matthew 18:15, about which the text should be “Ἐὰν δὲ ἁμαρτήσῃ ὁ ἀδελφός σου, ὕπαγε ἔλεγξον αὐτὸν μεταξὺ σοῦ καὶ αὐτοῦ μόνου. ἐάν σου ἀκούσῃ, ἐκέρδησας τὸν ἀδελφόν σου.” It shouldn’t be “Ἐὰν δὲ ἁμαρτήσῃ εἰς σὲ ὁ ἀδελφός σου, ὕπαγε ἔλεγξον αὐτὸν μεταξὺ σοῦ καὶ αὐτοῦ μόνου. ἐάν σου ἀκούσῃ, ἐκέρδησας ...
