Re: Colloquia of the Hermeneumata Pseudodositheana

Very nice. I love the colloquia and am in them every week. I've actually made some cartoons (probably around 4 or so) in Koine Greek based on taking small portions of the colloquia verbatim: https://www.koinegreek.com/post/the-colloquia-of-the-hermeneumata-pseudodositheana-authentic-koine-greek-conv...

Re: οἰκεῖος vs. συγγενής? οἰκία vs. συγγένεια

Yes, indeed a good point. I think the only threshold I need to meet for what I am writing is that the distinction we outlined above could be one that an ancient Greek speaker would have conceivably made, even if he didn't always use it that way or if his friends used it a bit differently, etc. In ot...

Re: οἰκεῖος vs. συγγενής? οἰκία vs. συγγένεια

Thank you! That is good to hear and a relief. I was writing something proceeding on the understanding that the distinction you outlined basically holds for these two terms, but then I decided to consult the lexica to double-check this and actually got more confused, since they list so many synonym-g...

οἰκεῖος vs. συγγενής? οἰκία vs. συγγένεια

I was wondering if there is any sharp/clear/or blurry distinction between these terms. I am sure they vary by style and author, but is there any way one could come up with a general division between them (if one had to pick a primary meaning): perhaps οἰκία and οἰκεῖος refers to the nuclear family a...

Re: Martyrdom of Polycarp animated film in Koine Greek (with subtitles)

Thank you very much for the feedback! That's encouraging.

Please share it with anyone you think might be interested. A large goal of my website and these films and such is to try and help it become easier for more people to get interested in the speaking/hearing aspect of learning Greek.

Martyrdom of Polycarp animated film in Koine Greek (with subtitles)

I thought I would share my animated film of the Martyrdom of Polycarp in Koine Greek. It has subtitles so it is a great way to practice if you are not used to hearing Greek:

English to Koine Greek Lexicon

Hi all, I recently made an English to Greek lexicon online by inverting concordances to NT, LXX, Josephus, JDT, Eusebius, Epictetus, and the Apostolic fathers that I generated with Accordance. Find it here: https://www.koinegreek.com/koine-greek-dictionary There are a couple issues. I do not know co...

Re: Intro - David Wyman

Welcome David!

I have some contacts at or associated with SBTS and also have a good friend who may be coming soon to do a PhD (who does communicative Greek!).

I would be happy to help in any way that I can with the group you are starting!

FILM TRAILER in Koine Greek: The Martyrdom of Polycarp

I am really excited to announce that next month (early next month) I am planning on releasing the first (that I'm aware of) Koine Greek animated mini-film based verbatim on an ancient Greek text (23 minutes in length). I have more to say here along with a trailer: https://www.kainediatheke.com/blog/...
