Question about a reading in the NA28 Apparatus

Hello. I'm kind of new to using the NA28's apparatus so I may be wrong about this, but in the apparatus at John 7:8 there is a variant reading from the main text (οὔπω) which is from P66. However, there is a solid vertical line separating another variant from P66 listed (οὐδέπω)... I'm really confus...

Re: Morphology of οἶδα

Is there a paradigm chart for this word available anywhere? Or a fuller explanation for its morphology?

Different tenses/aspects in John 6:35

John 6:35 ⸀Εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος τῆς ζωῆς· ὁ ἐρχόμενος πρὸς ἐμὲ οὐ μὴ πεινάσῃ , καὶ ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ⸀ἐμὲ οὐ μὴ ⸀ διψήσει πώποτε. πεινάσῃ --> Verb: Aorist Active Subjunctive 3rd Person Singular διψήσει --> Verb: Future Active Indicative 3rd Person Singular Why are the tenses/aspects ...

The accusative form(s) of the personal pronoun εγω

Well, this is definitely a basic level question... I'm wondering why μὲ sometimes has an epsilon in front of it (ἐμὲ). I thought that it was because the preceding word ended in a consonant and adding the epsilon made it sound better when speaking the language (similar to the movable ν?)... but i've ...

Comparatives

Is there an article or list that lists out all of the comparatives in Koine Greek with their meanings? Not just for the NT, but for the entire language in general - for Koine Greek?

The Pluperfect

I've done a search and I can't find any posts that were just about the pluperfect on the site. I've seen different things about the pluperfect. Most of them contradictory. I'm wondering if someone could explain the proper understanding of the pluperfect, and grammatically how it works and how the ve...

Conjugation of ποιέω: ἐποίησα

ἐποίησα --> Verb, from ποιέω: Aorist Active Indicative 1st Person Singular. I'm interested in knowing if there is a paradigm chart out there on ποιέω. But also, and more importantly, I'm asking for help in understanding why ποιέω is conjugated so weirdly in this form (ἐποίησα). The Aorist part makes...

The antecedent of this personal pronoun in John 7:17?

John 7:17 ἐάν τις θέλῃ τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ ποιεῖν, γνώσεται περὶ τῆς διδαχῆς πότερον ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν ἢ ἐγὼ ἀπ’ ἐμαυτοῦ λαλῶ. So, I know already what the response to this question would be. It would be something along the lines of "the context suggests αὐτοῦ refers to τοῦ πέμψαντός με (previous ve...

Conjugation of μεταβαίνω: (particularly) Μετάβηθι

I'm not concerned with the meaning of this word in the context of where it occurs. I think that it is very understandable once you realize its parsing. I'm concerned with how it is conjugated/inflected to become Μετάβηθι... What in Μετάβηθι makes it Aor Act Imp 2nd Sing ? When I first saw this I kne...

The Negative particles: ου and μη

After reading an article (http://www.galaxie.com/article/fm22-2-05) on the negative particles, and then trying to apply that understanding while reading the NT, I've realized that there are many cases where this understanding doesn't seem to make sense (a couple of examples include John 7:19, 23). H...
