Re: ἀληθής

I checked Thayer's.

I know the Brown, Driver, and Briggs Hebrew Lexicon is available at the Bible hub, but is the NT Greek Lexicon available online?

ἀληθής

What is the semantic range of meaning of ἀληθής (I mean the nominative feminine singular adjective used in John 8:17)?

Does it only mean "real," or "true," or can it also mean "valid," or "admissible" (which would seem to make more sense to me.)

Re: Look back at those 3 verses again

Yes. You've got my meaning. The three verses that I put up for discussion about possibly meaning "re-"s would be what I'm calling big context. That is to say that the meaning of "again" could perhaps come from the big (general) context. Thanks again. But I do have one question. ...

Re: ἐς φῶς σὸν

Mounce is a popular textbook in seminaries. Thank you. Dr. Rollinson's online textbook looks like it could be very helpful, and anyone able to access it online owe her a debt of gratitude for making it available free of charge (as do her students), but I think I'll need that CD to get the Koine pro...

Re: ἐς φῶς σὸν

Finally, were you trying to point out something important (context wise) here? BTW, the example as given shows you that σὸν describes (goes with) βίον = "thy (your, singular) life"[\quote] If that helps explain why πάλιν isn't used or needed, I missed your point, and would appreciate it i...

Re: ἐς φῶς σὸν

When you ordered Mounce, did you get the workbook also? As an independent learner, I found it helpful. There is also easy access to the key to the workbook exercises online. As long as you write your answers on paper rather than in the workbook, you can always go back through the exercises as a rev...

For those with limitted resources

For those with limitted resources (like myself), these links might be helpful.

Dr. Rollinson's Online Greek Textbook, and this Online Greek New Testament.
