Re: Seasoned Greek Prof potentially available for employment
I'm currently in my second online Greek course for Bob Jones University Seminary, in the roles of both developer and facilitator. I also completed the PCOE program (Professional Certificate in Online Education) in instructional design through the University of Wisconsin at Madison. So, while I'm by ...

Re: Seasoned Greek Prof potentially available for employment
Nice to hear from you, Paul. I hope you, Laurie, and family are all doing well--and that I haven't erred in my recollection of your wife's name! (Laurie Bartlett) Thanks for thinking of me. I did receive an email from Mark Herbster. I think he plans to contact me by phone soon. There are some signif...

Thanks for this tip, Δεβένιος. I'm not a big Facebook user at all, but those groups do sound interesting.

Re: Seasoned Greek Prof potentially available for employment
Hi, Randall, Nice to see your name again. Yours is a good question, of course. I did not learn Greek in the conversational or immersion mode, so, while I can write Greek passably well within the limits of NT vocabulary, I don't speak the language with any fluency at all, and it's not likely at this ...

Seasoned Greek Prof potentially available for employment
I have taught Greek at all levels from beginner through doctoral courses at Bob Jones University since 1982. I am probably best known as the author of the Reed-Kellogg-style sentence diagrams for the whole New Testament published in BibleWorks software. Close to 20 years ago, I suppose, I was fairly...

Re: Need a lookup from the first edition of Bauer's Wörterbuch
Thank you, Stephen. That observation from the head section of the entry certainly clears up the matter for me. Robert, I imagine that this is what you were driving at in your post; your omission of the explicit connection to the voice issue is what kept me from seeing your point. I've never thought ...

Re: Need a lookup from the first edition of Bauer's Wörterbuch
Hmm. Interesting, Mike. Are you saying that Bauer's headings "Akt." and "Med." may refer to something semantic rather than to the standard parsing categories? I've never noticed this previously as any kind of pattern in BAGD and BDAG; these headings have always appeared to me to ...

Re: Need a lookup from the first edition of Bauer's Wörterbuch
Yes, but that's not the issue. The issue is that these active-voice occurrences are classified under a middle-voice heading.

Need a lookup from the first edition of Bauer's Wörterbuch
Boy; it's been a long time since I've been on B-Greek! I think my last time was all the way back in the days when it was an email list. I hope the forum is continuing to help people like it did back then. This is asking a bit, but I wonder whether anyone may have the first edition of Bauer's Wörterb...
