Rules for normalization of Greek words?

Is anyone aware of a documented list of rules for normalizing Greek words? Off the top of my head it would include:
  • Changing grave accents to acute
  • Undoing elision
  • Dealing with movable ν
  • etc.

Perhaps it's just a kind of superlative, "really really vain"?
That could be it, or the Teacher could be speaking hyperbolically.

Should elisions be tokenized?

I found when tokenizing the SBLGNT with NLTK that elisions are split off as separate tokens - e.g. μεθ, ’ instead of μεθ’. This is due to how the NLTK default parser works, and I've found a way around it . But it raised the question for me: should Greek elisions be considered separate tokens or not?...

This very well could be, because I've failed to mention that this composition volume's subtitle is "learning to write the language of classical Athens."

It all depends on how you define rhyme, after all. ;-) How much of the end of the word must match in order to rhyme? The last phoneme? Syllable? 2 syllables?

Re: meaning and etymology of Phonos

And what is the etymology? The LSJ entry does not appear to have any etymological info. I am unsure of the implications of that, but it seems this word is either unique to Greek or cannot be effectively traced (somebody more knowledgeable about Greek etymology may be able to fill in the blanks here...

Use of present participle of ειμι with adjectives?

I came across an interesting paragraph in Anderson & Taylor's Writing Greek regarding attributive adjectives: There is however an important caution with the attributive use. In Greek the stupid slave necessarily implies a contrast with e.g. the clever slave : it serves to identify the slave in q...

Re: Determining Which Version [edition] a Greek Text Belongs

I remember reading that the folks in Munster have a list of verse which they used to determine the family of a text, so that could probably be correlated to the various published Greek editions. Is that list published somewhere, I am not sure.

Recommend a journal

I am planning on taking a new academic journal. Currently I am subscribed to JBL. The topic should be centered on Greek and/or biblical studies. What's the one I should get?

Re: χαιρε· σημρον γαρ ὁ θεος ἐγενετο ὁ ἀνθροπος

3) ἀνθρωπος being the predicate would normally be anarthrous ("God became human" rather than "God became THE [specific] human being") This is well illustrated in the similar phrase in John 1:14 ... ὁ λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο ... Also, I wonder if σημερον works for "on this calend...
