Tips or resources on learning all the prepositions at once

The Greek class I am enrolled in is doing "The Elements of New Testament Greek" at a rate of 1 chapter every day/ or day and a half. With assessable tests each day. Im not looking forward to the day that assesses prepositions (chapter 4), there are quite a few of them there and unlike the ...

Re: Type greek breathing marks on iPhone

Hold down the button for the appropriate letter, and a string of options will appear. I did try that, but its not clear to me how the option presented map to my greek textbook, i.e: holding down on "o" doesn't reveal a ὀ and ὁ holding down on "ω" doesn't produce an option for ῳ

Type greek breathing marks on iPhone

Is anyone aware of how to type (for example) "ιερον" as "ἱερον" when using an iPhone to type?

Currently Im using "Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Greek" to type, and I can't see a way to do it.

Who would have thought such as simple question could turn out to be so interesting. Looks like I've got some reading to do :geek: :geek:

Thanks Timothy, much appreciated. I guessed it would be something like that, but I'm still a beginner so this type of thing makes me wonder.

Matthew 13:45 ουρανων = heaven or heavens

Matthew 13:45: “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like..." "παλιν ομοια εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων εμπορω ζητουντι καλους μαργαριτας" I thought ουρανων would parse as "Masculine, Plural Genitive"? Why does it get translated to be "Heaven" not "Heavens"?

Re: Sabbath genitive or accusative

Thanks, your right, in an attempt to go back and edit for clarity, I've mixed it up. I'd fix the original post, but I can't find the edit button, it looks like it might disappear after a while, I am sure there was an edit button there before.

Re: Checking answers in Duff's "The Elements of New Testamen

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the feedback, I have come to realise that given my interest in this, perhaps I should apply to study this for real at college here in Melbourne. I've put in some application forms, we'll see what happens. :) In terms of the book for self teaching; apart from feeling like I ...

Sabbath genitive or accusative

While doing some translation practice, I wasn't sure if Sabbath should be considered in this sentence as genitive or accusative. Do you (s) keep the Sabbath because of the law? τηρεις το σαββατον δια τον νομον; I know it doesn't matter in this case because nominative and accusative of sabbath have t...

Re: Checking answers in Duff's "The Elements of New Testamen

Hi Jacob, I am sorry that one aspect of The Elements of New Testament Greek hasn't worked out for you as you had hoped. ..... I hope that this works for you. There are still an awful lot of practice exercises for you in the book, which answers are supplied for, even if not the 'section B sentences'...
