Re: Frequency Lists
Barry, do you know if the generator can do phrasal searches, e.g., for idioms?

Re: Taxonomy for hierarchy in corpus linguistics
I agree with using Septuagint that way. Just like I'm fine with using the term "Jerome's Vulgate" even though I'm aware he did not produce all of it--there were portions of the previous Old Latin he didn't revise, etc. We all know what is meant in such cases. And if we don't, we can ask fo...

Re: Complete Josephus
Thanks for the replies. It was a year or so ago, and I don't recall which Logos Basic version it was. It could be that I didn't spend enough time looking at the available options and wrongly concluded that the interlinears were the only original language Bibles offered. I'll look into it further now...

Re: Complete Josephus
Does anybody know if this module and the Duke Papyri set mentioned recently work with the free version of Logos? My budget doesn't permit me to get the full version. I decided not to get the free version earlier when I found that the only original language Bible texts it supports are interlinears. B...

Re: English-Koine Greek Lexicon
χαιρετε, Φριδερικε και γυναι σου! Friedrich, there is an occasional Ancient Greek chat on Facebook although I haven't tried it. I'll look up the details and send you a PM. One of our fellow B-Greekers and I chat in Koine by typing on Google Hangouts about once a month. I would be glad to do that wit...

Re: γραφει τους λογους
And even Augustine might have relaxed his speech a little away from the office.

Re: γραφει τους λογους
Augustine was a teacher of rhetoric by training, so one might expect that. However, since it is documented that the sermo vulgaris and its pronunciation is at least as ancient as the literary Latin accent, one could fairly call its style "classical". And I expect that the literary accent d...

Re: English to Koine Greek Lexicon
Ben, this looks really promising! I have a couple of questions about the authors you searched. First, what οr who is JDT? Second, which works of Eusebius did you search? In a sample search for "attempt", I saw citations starting with numbers for Eusebius, e.g., "4Eusebius", "...

Re: An online tool to read Biblical Greek
Pierre, salut et bienvenu! Je suis heureux que tu es ici avec nous! Having made some use of Pierre's materials for the Greek NT (the audio) and the Hebrew Bible (audio and text), I can recommend them to you all without reservation. I feel they go a long way toward achieving the stated goals of the p...

You might also want to check with one or more of the many Facebook groups dealing with Greek and ask about posting your availability. There are, for instance, Ancient Greek-Comprehensible Input and Nerdy Language Majors, among others. Best wishes, and welcome to B-Greek!
