Trivia: How many datives absolute occur in the NT?

Post by Stephen Hughes »

It is said that Matthew 8:23 and 9:27 are datives absolute (Eric Weiss, 2001 in the archieves);
Including these, how many datives absolute are there in total in the New Testament?

Every time this topic comes up, people argue over the definition. If you want to read lots of arguing over it, the B-Greek archives will have it.

Do you have an "estimates range between x and y depending on the definition one accepts" estimate, from your living archive (memory)?

Maybe a handful (less than 5). I remember that there was more squabbling over the definition than actual counting.

A "butcher's handful" then.
