FILM: Gospel of Mark in Koine Greek (Lumo Project - Faith Comes by Hearing - KaineDiatheke.com)

Post by Benjamin Kantor »

I have a favor to ask the B-Greek community...

I am really excited to let you know that I am partnering with Faith Comes by Hearing (as an affiliate of the Lumo Project) to help make a Koine Greek version of the Gospel of Mark film.

I am now in the stage where I am asking different people to review my recording of Mark before I pass it on to FCBH to edit it into the film. Once the review process is done (within the next month or so), God-willing I will pass it on to them and then once they are done editing we will be able to see the first Gospel film in Koine Greek with a Living Koine pronunciation!

I would really appreciate it if anyone on B-Greek who has the time would be willing to review a chapter (or more!) and let me know if you find any mistakes or if it is all correct. Every chapter review you do is a great help to this process and ensuring the highest quality.

Note that allophonic variation is not a big deal, but anything that affects meaning or is a difference from the Byzantine text should be addressed.

For more info (and the PDF of the Byzantine text you should use to review a chapter), see here:

All you would need to do to help this review process is the following:

1) Download the PDF of the Byzantine text from my website above

2) Listen to a chapter of Mark (also on my website KaineDiatheke.com) comparing it with the text

3) Note any differences/mistakes in my recording from the text, OR, if there are no mistakes, note that there are no mistakes

4) Post in this forum (and/or email to me, but probably better in this forum to save others trouble) any mistakes you have found or that you listened to a chapter and it is without mistakes

Any help would be appreciated!

Hey Benjamin, can you make this available for download like the others. It would be good to listen though to help but would be useful to do so on the mobile at times

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the comment. I have not yet decided what I want to end up doing with the recordings long term, and so keeping them listenable only on the website for now seems like the best option at the moment. It may change in the future.

It also allows me to gauge/keep track of interest more accurately than downloads would.

I know this does make it less convenient, but I might find a way to resolve that. I've considered making an app that would have an offline version of things, but I have limited technical abilities in that department, so it is on the back burner at the moment.
