James Tauber's latest post is about the psychological cost of learning a form. He implies that a low cost way of learning forms might be to use themes and distinguishers.

Anyone up to speed with this?

Well as I hope the post made clear, that's just the start. There's more to capture about the relationship between distinguishers and the post was just some initial thoughts.

I should also clarify, I'm not suggesting students actually study themes and distinguishers (any more than they should study stems and endings and sandhi). I'm just suggesting we *model* learnability using such things.
